One week after the end of the celebrations dedicated to San Giorgio, in Ragusa Ibla inside the Cathedral ( every year the date change) “the carriers association” at 7 pm before the mass he will place the simulacrum of the Saint in the niche in which it will remain for the whole year until the next feast, it will therefore be possible to attend the “Accianata di San Giorgio”.
This shift creates two events in which citizens participate,a ” scinnuta” (statue goes down) that is, when the statue of the Saint is lowered from the niche and la ” accianata” ( statue goes up) that is, when it is brought up into the niche.
